HeyallThis is the little gyro I bought from Chuck Irby This past fall, about a week before his untimely death. You can see there is a lot of work to be done. The tail group is constructed from the matereal that make's up the floor panales in a Boing cargo bay,it is a honycomb materal that is very lite and strong. The intire fram is redundant but probabley gonna have to change some of that too shead some weight.I will be adding a instrument cluster and small pod.The old motor is a 72hp Mac,that had to coxed into life after a lot of cleaning and adjusting, now she purrs like a kittin. The prop is a 50x28 Tennessee that I need to send in and have redone. The craft came with a set of aloy blades,Benson or KB,I'm not sure but I don't think I will use them becouse I think they have been flaped, there are a few ripples on the top skin at the trailing eadge and some missing rivits,so I'll just hang them on the wall next to my black powder rifles and my didgeridoo[I'm perty sure I spelled that wrong ]it is a momento from my trip to Sydne in the 60's.I wish I could play the thing but never could.I will be bussy building a set of Benson plywood blades for her.As much as I don't want to,I reccon the hoops gotta go,my son is pretty opset with me for distroying his baskit ball.[)]I intend on changing the wheel base and make it longer for better ground handling, kinda scary lookin huh.[:0] Albeit I am very happy with it,a little spit pollish and paint and she will be a nice little machine.[]
