We had planned and flew another cross country training exercise today.Geoff Blackberry, Nudge, his son Duane and I flew to Mt Roland.The strip runs up a rising valley, big, wide but plenty of trees and high contry all round. Rotors off the Mt and trees no problem today as the wind was at 15-20 straight down the strip.Mt Roland is spectacluar and is much larger than this aspect view shows.I videoed the return trip via Sheffield, Port Sorrell, Bakers Beach, over/around the Asbestos Range and back to Cranbourn via the wood chip plant at Bell Bay. Turned out excellent. Got some great footage of Nudge in his XAir over the beach, water and across the Asbestos range.We had a great day finishing up at about 1.30 pm.Here are some pics at the airstrip at Mt Roland....not all that far from Cradle Mountain.Mitch
