I"m with Webby on this one!I think that the Microsoft term is "Wallpaper" but it varies. But no, they aren"t "screensavers".A screensaver is something that moves across your screen in various ways after a period of inactivity to help avoid screen burn.I work in IT and I hear all number of mis-uses of jargon that often confuses the matter.Like people who refer to the box/system unit/etc as "the harddrive."Calling it the "harddrive" is like referring to your whole car as "the fuel tank."Imagine if you took your car to your mechanic and said "I"m having trouble with my fuel tank!" ??Just my $0.02 worth!

Gee when my computer is inactive for a while they show up as a slide show....Isn"t that a screensaver?Gee I guess if you really want to get technical, wouldn"t they just be JPEG (Joint Photographic Expert Group) files... and whether you want them as wallpaper, desktop or a screen saver really depends on the individual??Whatever you want to call them, use them for postage stamps for all I care, it doesn"t really matter what they are called.

If you set a specific setting of screensaver program to look into a folder of your images/pictures and roll them across your screen, then yes.But flat image files by themselves aren"t.In my experience, most people just use images as their desktop background/"wallpaper", although using them in combination with a screensaver application can make them part of your screensaver.

Yeah Webby, it"s fun to take the p!$$ out of non-techoes (as every industry does with their respective clients!) but I try to be understanding.I have to remind myself that each of us have things that come easy to us, and for me, it"s them-thar computery-thingies!

(And besides which, many people get a case of the "irrits" when you pick them up and correct them!)
