Gra Gra,No thermals.....(forgot to pack them) didn"t neeed them and we flew and had a great time. Friday arvo was warm and sunny. Andrew flew in, in his tandeem from Coonamble. Pics were taken around 1030am Saturday.Bob and his mate George were very obliging and hospitalble. Guided me, backed up on the fire they had going, affording me protection from the mild light breeze. Stoked it up before we called it a night and again at about 2.00am when mum nature called. On the stretcher bed, was a comfortable night.Bob Jumeau and his wife, Margie along with Bob"s mate George and his wife Helen were a pleasure to meet and spend time with. The afore mentioned took off to the hot baths around 10pm and Andrew and I continued to talk in a good natured fashion about gyros, by the fire.Sat morning the cloud was in, little patches of blue about. I was glad to have flown all afternoon Friday and decided to pack up and head out.Andrew packed up and we watched him fly off back to Coonamble. It was near lunch time as I headed south out off Burren. There were places still getting the cotton in and now I know what a cotton gin is. ;D There was no rain anywhere I travelled.

Yep!As I unzipped it, I thought oh no here we go again.Popped right up and locked in tight straight up! ;D ;DHave fun with that Gra Gra..... Your right about the Kruzza Boys. I missed Alistair, this time round. Time well spent with Geoff. Nice flight in the current Kruzza, Geoff being keen to put some hours on it. I like what they are doing. So they are "Mexicans" then? One thing I neglected to mention.....Pulled in to the 12 Apostles and took some pics. Wandered up to the Helipad paddock where they were operating the Robinson 44"s. Walked in to the office, three uniformed Chopper pilots standing around, two people sitting on a bench waiting for the next flight.I said, " How much room you got here , just the pad or a little strip?" "Nah, just the helipad area, no strip. Whys that?" said the younger darker skinned fella."Thought I might blade up and take my gyro for a fly!"He immeadiately responded with, "What you fly a gyro and your still alive!" and a big grin spread across his face.I laughed and passed a card across the table towards him. "Yep been flying for more than 6 years now and still here. Things are changing, fewer getting killed, safer better designs around now.""How much room you need to get off?" asked the oldest of the three. "A tad more than you got here unless the wind picks up".Long story short we then discussed their engine out approaches and gyros in general. They mentioned there was a strip further back up the road. I would have loved to given more time. I had to head to Appollo Bay, promised Jake and Del some crystals and gem stones and I had a ferry to catch. The idea of just flying along the shelf just past the Apostles would have been awesome....as I drove off I imagined trusting the 582 and the Monarch to take me out over the edge across the white capped waves and around those beautiful stone structures. Gleeso lives not far from them and I"d like to go back,

Good to see you made it home Mitch. The strip those chopper blokes mentioned is Peterbough. Its a really nice flight around there but i haven"t ventured into that airspace for years and i reckon the rules have changed a fair bit. Still some nice flyin back to the west with less traffic and similar sights. would be happy to show you when i get that 2 seater sorted (in 3yrs time). Place for ya here any time Mitch.Matt.
