That Bloody Tank flies like a single place Monarch or Butterfly. Like I said in my email to you Birdy, I wont go into a rave about just how impressive this ship is. I've been in it, flown it and landed it with the GFLG and I want one someday soon. That's all I've got to say.Cheers.www.thebutterflyllc.com

Hi GregI have seen the video of it landing and takeing off and it does seemto fly realy well. Its climb rate is quite impressive one up.It is as Birdy stated a bit of a tank, but I also know the longer the gyro is from nose to tail the more stable it will be in flight. My only concern is the amount of machine in front of the hang point compared to the distance and size of its tail. The pod has quite a large amount of side surface area, and being so far in front of the hang point gives me the feeling that maybe the machines tail might be a little needing.I would love to see one in person, and maybe even fly one one day !!!!Regards Sam L. Morning Gents,Well, I said it "flys like a single place Monarch or Butterfly". I'm sure it would not keep up with Birdy in his Feral, flying round and round a 'liddle biddy mulga tree'. As for being too complicated with too many bits, remember this is the foundation around which the Super Sky Car is being built, which in fact has less bits as the glass/carbon/kevlar body negates some of the frame struts as you see it.I don't often dream about gyros, which is a real shame, however, true story, just two nights ago I had a dream about Ken flyng a little scooter, the ones that look like skate boards with a T steer bar up front and powered by foot. You flew that thing real good Ken. Took off, climbed out, quick 180 and landed, saying something about having to lengthen the push rods. No engine, prop, blades or pushrods. Funniest dream I've had in a while. I think this might of had something to do with the fact that you're not certain the Super Sky Cycle will ever fly. Well Larry does not know for sure either but he is only a couple of months from finding out. Sam, thanks for posting pics, excellent. That's Matt Pearson up front, he does some of the test flying for Larry in the early vids of Monarch GFLG. Brad King up back, Test Co-Pilot to Larry in the Carter Copter and Instructs out of the Golden. I have had the pleasure to meet them both. They are excellent pilots and 'top blokes'. Hope to catch Matt today and will probably fly with Brad in Golden at Mentone. Brad is going to take Allan up at Mentone and I'm sure Allan will report back at some stage as to his thoughts on Golden. I take your well made points about plate suface forward and aft of centre of pressure, dont forget to factor in the engine area and the power imparted by the true airfoil shaped tail. Draw in your RTV for straight and level flight and I think you'll find the tail and length of the moment arm are certainly "adequate". That HS is enormous and until you see it up close it can be deceiving. She flys true with no bad habits as far as my limited experience can tell. No yawing about or pitch excursions at all. And Larry can put this ship through the 'ringer' and turn it inside out. Stuff you would'nt wont to even think about in a HTL ship. Check out the pics of Sun and Fun on the web site and the angles he gets this 'tank' into. We might just have a Golden Down Under, sooner than later, so a ride in Golden is 'on the cards'. This is what I love about the gyro fraternity, the communication, sharing of info and vigorous debate.Cheers Fellas.Fly Safe.Mitch.www.thebutterflyllc.com
