G,day.Good work Ted and Paul.At last some common sense seems to be entering into the debate. This was sorely needed so that the Gyro could spread beyond a sport into a viable profession.I want to work a Gyro ( for my own work )but outlaying 40 or 50Kfor the platform and then putting 200k worth of equiptment onboard cant possibly happen unless we all pull together and have themrecognised and operated in a professional manner. I could get away with it by doing it illegally probably, but that is not mystyle and would be plain stupid. That aside, I did hear that some of the Mustering fella's weren'treally working their Gyro's, but were using them to fly from onecampfire billy to the next and the cows were just goin the same way !Cheers.Safe flying.Robert DunnMackay. Qld.Growing old is good while it lasts.

quote:Originally posted by Firebird PaulThank you Ted. A couple of days late, as I have done some soul seaching and decided to do exactly what you have suggested, but a well thought out and written post. Ted, you said, "but for some reason you declined to present in person."Ted, I had two reasons for not attending the hearing. Firstly, I had a student quite disadvantaged by the situation and I wanted to spend the last remaining legal flying days I had availible to me to finish him to certificate standard. This guy is situated 300 km east of Darwin has a Raf 2000, and had taken holidays to have his training completed. Fortunately I was able to complete his training with a day to spare.Secondly, I felt that at a large National gyro event there could have been personal problems for people with me being there. An event of that calibre does not need any tension.Ted I believe that it is time for me to change, and begin the rest of my life as a better person.Aussie Paul.[8]www.firebirdgyros.comUnless there were other reasons?
