Mediation Reports ASRA Board

Dean,Been going on for the best part of 15 yrs that I"m aware of. Mags have had pages/half pages of blurb from each of the candidates running for the board.David,I think the Assoc is run under the banner of the Associations Incorporation Act, and all which that entails to limit liability for office holders. I seem to recal in the constitution mention of "model rules", which is a base set of generic rules set up to enable the running of incorporated entities less costly than setting up a dedicated corporation. I believe our constitution etc is the "model rules" except where registered changes have been made that are specific to the ASRA requirements. Thats how things normally work in non profit, limited finance organisations. Some-one will undoubtedly say, if I am wrong.Cheers

I"ve just done some testing and it will be possible to add an extra group for financial members only.People not in this group will not see these posts or topics.I will wait a week to see what transpires with the board then approach them for permission.webbiewebbie, if you need a hand give me a ring ... Was intending to say nothing, let the dust settle, become involved in the advancement of asra if asked later.Seeing some of the rubbish here just undone my decision.............Llewella................phew. ......... You claim, I know everything........sorry, I knew just enough to know, that what i knew, had to be known by members, and it had to be sorted. You were both desparate to stop the "outing" of the goings on, you were both dragged screaming and kicking to this outcome.You even attempted to get "that report" sanitized, to lessen your guilt, to make the reading more "friendly". Alas, the pressure from members was ahead of your agenda, so you conceded defeat. Now to............all attempts to get helpers, falls on deaf ears........bla, bla, blaThere have been many offers of help to asra, some "you" have said "no" to, why.............because that volunteer would dare question "you", would have the gawl to ask "why", would have a view that just was not "your" view.I personally know of 3 that were "onboard", after clashes with "you".................."they" resigned. I also know of a couple of others that refrained from volunteering whilst you were in the chair.......[ tellin you sumin maybe ]Must admit tho, your public admission here that "dg" has an attitude problem, that was why his offer to help was rejected, mmmmm,could"ve been more subtle there.I"ve publically said for many yrs, you are a hard worker for asra........but........you come at a price. Roles delegated to others, you just have to medal in,to the point of actually "taking over". You, by your own actions, have "centralized" asra under your own roof. The revealing of your more recent actions show that " go it alone", to hell with rules, the dismissing of other board members requests, the deceit, etc etc, is your style.The "Regan" report slams you both for just that.You craved absolute control, answerable to no one, all under the guise of a silky smooth voice, cheeky comments and a great smile. Behind the sherade, there was a Hitler. Sorry.As to the makeup of the new board, i would like to see a majority of "new" faces........starting with "president", i would like old hands to be available as "consultants" to be drawn apon as needed. I would like to see a "max term" in place, for all positions. And i definately want to see a board seeking member views, openly asking, encouraging input and acting from that input. This more recent events maybe a catalyst for change, i hope so.In closing, and this is my last comment..............thankyou...........thankyou, for the efforts you have put in, it"s a shame things panned out the way they did, let"s move on.................

dg, you"re like a broken record.You offered to do a number of roles, the board said no, so accept it.Maybe the board will say yes at another time.I am not on the board so I will never know.You said previously in this thread, "would I stand for a position, well yes I might, but I will not put up with people bitching at me just because they don"t like a decision," but it seems that I have to put up with you bitching at me because the site isn"t the way you"d do it.I only put things on the site when directed to by the board as I consider it their site and not mine.If they had asked me to put something regarding the elections or the magazine on the site, I would have.Also, not being a board member, I can"t pre-empt some decisions or needs of theirs.While I agree with some of the things that you"ve raised regarding the site, a lot of the members don"t have a nice fat ADSL link to download a hefty PDF"d magazine, some members wouldn"t know what to do with it if they did download it and some members aren"t even on the net.I have silently sat here reading your little snipes about how good you are and how bad the site is.When I was asked by the board to assist in this voluntary position, I asked if I could do it as neutrally, transparently and as anonymously as possible and they agreed.I could have followed my predecessor"s line and made it into a bit of a political role but I didn"t because I don"t believe in removing people"s posts, leaving the site offline for unknown reasons or going against the wishes of the board if I disagree with them and if you don"t know who I am, I"m certainly not doing it for the glory.Maybe I could put up a poll to see if the members like my style of operation or whether they want to go back to the way it was. I"m sure that the board will say that I"m easy to deal with as well.I never said that I knew everything as I know there are holes in my skill set.There are also definitely holes in the skill sets of Llewella, John, Tim, Waddles and every other person that has a roll in this association.Making little snipes at people only shows how childish you are and generally achieves nothing more than pissing more people off than you think.Your last little snipe, "ASRA has a website, just barely anyway" shows how much of a nice person you must be.......just barely!webbie

Gosh, Cookie seems to be letting down on what he perceives as his role in life - information, information, information - whether it be correct or otherwise.He certainly knows who Webbie is, and has known for a very long time. Quite a while ago, Webbie said he didn"t mind who knew his identity, as people seemed to know how to behave on the ASRA forum. Maybe he is changing his mind?

Time for me to call a spade, a spade - to put it bluntly, I"m not your dart board and I"m sick of your crap.If you want to check the history on it, you started the snipes, not me.Maybe your should read your own post about people bitching at you because you certainly don"t practise what you preach.With regards to the site, one point you"re missing is that I don"t say what goes on the site, the board does.Maybe the board might decide to split the roles and someone can run the forum while someone runs the site.This association is a run via the members but by the board.If you don"t like them declining your request, live with it.Likewise, when they decide to appoint this position to someone else, that"s their decision and I"m happy to have been able to help.What annoys me is that while we do agree on things, you still chose to make comments like, "ASRA has a website, just barely anyway".What were you trying to achieve with that statement?GROW UP!!You not only show disrespect for the hours of work I"ve put in over that last year, you show disrespect by association for every other volunteer in ASRA.You also don"t have a bloody clue as to what I had been handed as it was a lot less than you think, Llewella can certainly back me up on that.But thats OK, you just make your snide little remarks on the side.It must make you feel like a real hero or something.Finally, to reply to Llewella"s post and to give you one less thing to whinge about maybe Russ can do the honours here.Come on Russ, tell dg who I am.Webbie takes the mask off................
