I have been looking for a mechanical brake lock part for a while now.Larry Neal had tested a elec brake lock but it was not successfull. Here is the device I decided on. It is a quick release brake lever lock.

I dont rely on any thing these days Birdy. It"s not a part brake. It is designed to do the early holding, whilst spinning up to give my right hand/wrist a "brake".There are a series of pics on Rotors forum (bigger pics allowed to load ), which shows the process. In fact the device can be operated with thumb, pointer and little finger, as you slide your hand down the column/control grip. The lever is always guarded by the fingers during this process. If I was to use it as a park brake whilst pull starting, I would chock the wheel or use my boot on the wheel or the axle as I have always done.Allan has seen the pics and we have discussed at length the use of elec brake locks Vs mechanical brake locks and we both agreed upon sourcing a mechanical lock, considering Larry"s elec lock which did not pass testing. This device has not completed testing but it has been used for approx 20yrs in the field and in use today on thousands of motorcycles. I have no issues with the quality of the device. We have discussed it"s use with hydraulics/leaking hydraulics and of course this can be addressed, though I take note of your caution and as always appreciate your advice. In this case however, you can keep your cow paddy, mostly because it would take far too many (paddies) and too much testing time to determine the average "brake away" engine rpm required to "brake out" of the paddies "grip".
