This is the second machine I"ve seen with a downwards inclination in the nose-end of the keel. What"s the story on this design feature? Its the dragster look Quoj ;D He has lowered his thrust line by flipping his gearbox. In doing so he has had to lower the keel to achieve the required prop clearance. This has in-turn also lowered the rear undercarriage. As explained the next step is to extend the front undercarriage by 3 inches finally leveling the machine.Cheers SamL..........

Okay, I get it now. This would mean that the drop-keel is an afterthought, and not an original intention? The thing is that Kawasaki"s design shows a similar feature.Seeing as I was under the impression that ASRA is encouraging, nay *requiring* all new builds to be CLT, and CLT is (from what I can see) hard to achieve (especially on a single-seat, open frame) without a drop-keel, then I would"ve expected that almost *all* new designs are going to have a drop-keel and sit higher off the ground a-la "Dominator" style.I know that this is not the *only* to achieve it, but is often the easiest if you"re using a Rotax with a Re-drive.Some Bensen B8-M pilots in the U.S. using a Direct-drive McCulloch have told me that their setup is near CLT.Again, I learn more and more every day! Thanks for the explanation!

Most Dominator"s aren"t CLT,they are usually low thrust line to very low thrustline. You can achieve CLT with only a small drop in the keel. Especially with heavy engines gearbox down.Mac engines on Bensen"s are CLT. Tilting the engine the required 3 degrees is the key.Mark Regan is collating the fleet survey photo"s for the next Gyro News and I"m told will have some nice diagrams of CLT machines.
