All i can say is i remodeled one machine to near clt, rebuild a couple of times from mishaps, and built 1 from scratch, turned out to be within clt limits, with this in my mind, i will never, repeat never build another machine again. Its not what you know about you need to do, its the little p*ss fart things that pop up that take all the time, damn it took about 3 weeks of trying, cutting, recutting ect to get a few of the critical bit to all work together on the last machine, took over 12 months to finish, i know if i didnt already know how to fly and have the other machine to fly in the mean time, i wouldnt have bothered to finish the last one.Not only that but the budget of the machine usually goes flying long before the machine does, the last machine i done was near double what i THOUGHT it would be, granted i had some motor problems to sort out, about extra 7k of motor parts, that as it turned out i didnt need, really sucked. My advice is to buy a second hand machine and go from there, there are some good machines that come up, and usually not much more than it will cost to build.Again all this is dependand on your budget, please dont for a minute think you gonna build/buy and get your licence for 5k(actually had 1 guy tell me that), as long as you are realistic you will find something.
