Both Ron and TimYou are two right, as I have just been reading "A dream of flight" by Dr. Igor B. Bensen, and yes he did testing using the single twisting / pushing rod on his B-7 Gyroglider, but shelved it due to wear problems.Sam.Melbourne Vic.

Ron learn to fly gyros first then reinvent them if you still think it nessesary my guess is youll be to busy flying to bother KISS keep it simple stupid &If it isn't broken don't try to fix it If however you have a real intrest in finding solusions for problems the one WE would love help with is hub bar design / stress rates as this is a problem that truly exists in gyro designe for more info contact Adrian STOFFELSButch S.

Dearest Sampson,Your comment about needing a minimum of two control rods, as right as you think you may be.....aint.All you really need is a single bar arrangement coming out from under the rotorhead, forward, into a horrible overhead handlebar affair that looks crap and makes all your inputs reversed, and I think those german submarine blokes used the idea and that other Benson fella but like I said, it looks crap and there are too few things to go wrong, so it never will be popular in a technological age.So, in a way you are right, but really, you're not.(nicely)Ron,Butch is correct, when you fly gyros, everything works..just fly them.Mark.

Ron, if you get the chance have a look at Jeff Henly Smith's control system ( on his gyro ). Very neat. Mark, I think that overhead control system on the German subs was actually their PERISCOPE.
