Help with EA 81 cooling system

    Have you pulled the head down with a tension wrench? Have you had the coolant checked for products of combustion? Cracked heads are fairly common and often quite servicable as they often don't leak, perhaps yours does.John EvansThink logically and do things well, think laterally and do things better.

      Are you using the samw type of coolant ? I had a motor done up and used a diferent but recommened coolant and had the same problem. Flushed the motor and radiator, filled with Castrol coolant and the problem was solved !!BrianPooncarie NSW

                  Nick, I have no idea "why is it so" but there you go !! The two products read very similiar on the labels and have the same main ingrediant.In my case, the motor just pumped coolant into the bottle then when it was full, kept pumping coolant out and when you stopped the motor and let it cool, it wouldnt suck back into the radiator !!I only use Castrol coolant since then and have never had a problem.BrianPooncarie NSW
