Can anyone advise me about hard anodising the Gates pulleys on my Pete Smith redrive and if it would increase the amount of wear on the Gates cog beltDavid Skett

David,Number one, Anodizing is for aluminum, it's nothing more than the speeding up of the oxidization process and the dying of the open micron thickness pores and then resealing them, anodizing does a few things, for example it puts a weather protecting coating on the metal, it comes in various colours, the coating is hard, and believe it or not the coating is electrically insulating.I have been doing the above for years for the Tang Carriers on my composite Rotor System, the best dyes I have come across are the "Clarient" Sanodol variety, however they are very expensive, if you want more information please Email me, pjbarsden268@ozemail.com.au all the best Pete Barsden Pete Barsden
