Hi all,If my wife has done me proud, this Xmas, I"ll be the proud owner of a set of Rod Torr"s plans for a you-beaut CLT gyro!(No, I won"t be putting any pink ribbons on the handle bars!)I"m a FW pilot with little-to-no gyro experience, so it"ll be a newbie aircraft. (Nothin" hard like Birdy"s feral!)My questions is, what is the best choice of engine?No, I can"t afford a brand-new 912 (or 914, for that matter!)I"m probably looking at second-hand/reconditioned.I"m hoping to spend no more than a couple o" grand. (7000 tops!)I"ve heard that a 582 is good.There is varying debate on the Sooby.Any of you guys go some choice words of advice (keep it nice, now!) on what"s best to put on my gyro?I"ve read some of the topics advising carb heat and boost pump (which I"m used to and use quite often in my FW flying!).I know that Rotaxes don"t tend to come standard with them.Are they necessary or only required once I become a true hard-a$$?Thanks.
