And you can forget bout the warrenty.Soons you plug it into a gyro they will pretend not to know you.Thing is that with Soobs, you dont need that thing called warranty :P ;D As a side point, Tim and Rosco have used engines out of wrecks for a long time now and I reckon there hasnt been too many thats not been okay. My 2.2 was out of a wreck and except for a idler on the cam belt, there weren"t any other problems. Knowing what I know now I would have replaced the cam belt and idlers plus put in a new water pump.I would go an SD link computer from NZ, they seem to be the goods from what I have read.

G"day Dean,If you can work it, buy a motor that has low hours/kms (provided you know it hasn"t overheated/been run out of oil/run for 10 mins with the car upside down etc etc) and don"t touch it. Just put it in and fly it. Overhauling increases your risk (provided you know the motor is good in the first place). If a motor gets to 50K, anything that was forgotten, done wrong, defective, not tightened properly, overtightened, etc, etc, etc have already shown up and been dealt with. I personally wouldn"t pull a Soob down that had done 200K (provided it was still running good). Just do the peripherals (like Brian said) Belts, cam tensioner bearings, hoses etc. If you think I"m pulling your leg, just think how many times you"ve miss-placed your car keys, mobile phone, sunglasses, etc over the years. It"s just as easy to forget things/get interrupted/think about the new sheila that moved in up the street/ etc. while you are rebuilding (or while someone else is rebuilding) You know what I mean? By the time a car gets to 50K, all of those things that were "forgotten" etc, have let go. Something else to keep in mind. Early 2.5s had a design fault that allowed air to get trapped in the heads. They didn"t find out until the early ones came in for their first big service to change the coolant. Cooling systems werent able to self purge trapped air, and a lot of heads cooked. Later ones ( after a couple of years) had mods to take care of that. One other thing. If you"re the tiniest bit smart, you won"t mention "gyro". ;D ;D ;D
