My question is what would a second had AMAX Redrive be worth these days and are they any good. Thanks in advance.CarlA Amax re drive wouldnt be real valuable in my opinion as you can have a brand new rotax C box for around $1700 I think. No belts, less fiddling with better ratios. I reckon about $300 would be enough to pay and that may be too much. Are they any good ? on a scale of 1 to 10, I give them a 3!

Thanks Chop. There was one on ebay a few weeks ago. I didn"t know enough about them so didn"t bid. Someone paid $620 for a realy old one with and old EA81.Glad I didn"t bid.I fly an Amax Redrive and dont really have a problem with it, set it up and forget about it. Always check it before flight, It doesn"t deter me from flying over rough country (will follow a rotax box anywhere), $300 is a bit rough tho... i would of said a grand.Only downside is the offset is around the wrong way. which means you need to have a high machine to get centre line thrust.

Sorry. As far as reliability goes, I put over 1,000 hours in that EA 81 with the amex redive with no failures due to the belt although they didnt last all that long from memory.
