G'day Mitch checked out the butterfly web site, you and Waddles are celebrities wow. All good reports from those who flew the Butterfly at Cooma(and there was heaps)Mitch was sweating as he was running around re-fueling, strapping others in and spinning up blades for many to try the new machine. And the temp was only 14 Dec or so. Great effort mate this is real positive for our sport. We need more like you.Cam.
Sam,Still on the road after Cooma, density altitude for Butterfly with 503 no problem. I had guys 95 kgs plus take her for a 'blap', she is set up for me at 78 kgs. Gyro performed very well. Check new look website for specs.Camel,Thanks Mate, hope you enjoyed your time at Cooma. I've certainly come away with a whole new perspective. Was pleased to get feed back from all the guys who flew the Butterfly.Fly safe,Mitch.www.thebutterflyllc.com
Has anyone used the tuned exhaust pipe for the 503? from their dino reports, it looks like it would almost make the butterfly a monarch without the extra weight and complexity of the bigger water cooled engine.Alan
G'Day Allan,I havent but you piqued my interest. I'll make some inquiries, How's your Butterfly going these days, what mods/additions do you have now.Regards,Mitch.www.thebutterflyllc.com
Hello again Greg,The Butterfly still flies well, I put Larry's light shocks back on it with the Air command Donuts on the other end of the tube. The soft shocks really improve the ride on the grass and the donuts provide a bit more travel if I hit hard enough to bottom out the shocks. I hear that Larry is going with a stronger nose wheel so that is probably my next modification. I'm not sure the g force gear would be worth the extra weight, especially if it is bottomed out on the ground and doesn't provide any cushon for the less than perfect grass strip.Alan
Glad to hear your still having fun with your Butterfly Allan. We are going to a different front strut here. I'll be trialing a set of air-shock GFLG later in the year, specifically for Butterfly. (Less weight).Mitchwww.thebutterflyllc.com
