Circumnavigating Australia (Townsville to Townsville) in approximately 40 days!

Darryn Watts (61) and Tom Lashmar (74) started their epic trip on Saturday morning. They are aiming to fly their Gyros around Australia (30000km) in about 40 days. They popped in at Marian airfield for a coffee and to be refuelled, after taking to the skies once again, to sleep over at Rocky.The Magni M22 enjoyed a full service and lots of love before the trip. Tom"s Ela is the proud to present a brand new, very advanced, shock absorbing undercarrage and they were looked upon with a lot of envy from us!Good luck gentleman and safe landings!

Hi Colin,This is fantastic for promoting our machines and pilots! I only hope that I can do a trip like this when I"m 74yrs. Great work Tom and Darryn!Don"t hessitate to give them my contact info as we have a house on the airfield that they can stay, on their way down south. Will the boys be providing regular stories and photo updates on the ASRA site during their trip? I sure hope so
