http://importdesigns.com/index.cfm?f...h_article_id=5 http://www.deh.gov.au/ html atmosphere/ethanol/publications/review-non-automotive/operability-1.Using our AFR meter we tuned for slightly rich to do this we took a 142 jet out to 155 an addition of 9%Government testing shows that this would be easily attributed to a 20% addition of ETHANOL as shown in a graph you can find at the above web site as I am not able to export it to this page

Gday birdy I'm not a petroleum chemist but have a look at gov website I did however do a lot of reading & questioning as fuel quality affects us all & tuning to suit this crap is difficult but EGO sensor takes out the guess work.Tony Denton who has one of my motors & ego sensors in his newly built gyro had a fuel fillter before the pumps but not after he had flown 2hrs or so & started geting intermitant EGO readings lean/optimal/rich pulled carby down found small bits of plastic same colour as pump ends cleaned carby out fitted filter put back on ran it up same reading lean intermittently cleaned again same result replaced carby fixed steady reading conclusion a piece of plastic must be caught in cross drillings in carby but wiyhout EGO motor would have been damaged as it ran OK in run up tests with only minor rev fluters but ego told us that we had problems.

the feul truck that delivers out here has only one pump.puts the diesel up in the tank then puts the hose over to the petrol and pumps a bit into his trucks tank, till he can smell petrol.this never bothered me [especialy for a couple of ag bikes] untill i couldnt start this flying bar stool and decided to flush the tank and make a mix of dads avgas and petrol to see if there was a difference.started first pull.the driver seen the gyro last time and tells me he is much more carefull if he knows it is for aircraft and pumps more into his trucks tank to be sure, but recomended i start getting 98 octane delivered in drums. i wonder what the truck thinks of this feul mix???

Fuel quality is extemely poor unfortunately !! Its worrying to see the guys on their motorbikes having trouble getting them started knowing that I have to fly on the same fuel. The unleaded fuel goes off quickly and it doesnt have to get too hot before it starts to boil!! So far my Suby hasnt let me down but I am concerened what damage is being done. Butch, can you post a pic of your meter here ??Brian
