I have been in contact via email with Rob Duben, he was the pilot that flew a Sparrow hawk modified RAF to all states in the US. He has given some good advice including an offer to lead the trip. Anyone interested in the trip as a pilot or ground support please email me at murraysbarker@bigpond.com.au and we can orginize things that way instead of on the forum.

Gents,There may be a problem with the FAA re licences and regos and flying foreign registered aircraft in the US. Also Homeland Security is a possible hurdle. I have been given a contact in the FAA and hope to get this stuff sorted in the next few days.Rob Dubin, a former ASRA member and student of mine has provided a mound of planning information. Whilst possible to fly from the LA area, it involves crossing the Sierra and Rocky Mountains. The lowest route would be to the south, but then there are 2 deserts to negotiate in mid summer. You may recall that Steve Fosset went missing in this area and has not been found yet!!Best option is to truck/train the gyros to Eastern Colorado or Western Kansas and start from there.More as it comes to hand.Waddles.
