Guys & Girls, Start your planning now as the Super Light Aircraft Club of WA has just made the decision to bid for the 2010 Nationals. We will be asking ASRA to see if they can consider & approve our bid for 2010 this year so that ASRA membrs can start planning a 2010 holiday in WA. Some basic parameters,KISSCountry location so Aerodrome endorsement not required.1 to 2 hours from Perth so people from OS/Eastern states can have easy access.On airfield camping if required, otherwise motels,hotel or farmstays will be the go.5 days duration, 2 days Comps (usual stuff) 2 days Nav-ex"s to interesting places, 1 day

Sounds great Adrian, I hope that we can get there. Country location, private strip prefferably, decent sized shed for food and seminars /presentations/ Toilets /showers. Wood for camp fires.The KISS principle is a good way to go !!

Guys,Just a quick update on the planning so far. The club airfield at Bindoon is located in military airspace and I have been unsuccessful in getting the RAAF to release a block for more than the 4 days of easter. Fear not - I have had very good meetings with representatives of the Wongan Hills Shire and tourism group so SLAC will still be hosting the Nats in 2010 but based out of Wongan Hills. This is outside of the military airspace but still only 2hrs from Perth.Not mandatory to have airfield/above 500" endorsements or radio .The Wongan Hills airfield has two strips one bitumin and a shorter one gravel. The strip is 10min walk to town. Camping will be allowed on the strip or you can use the Caravan Park, Pub or farm stays. The Caravan Park and Pub are 10min walk or you can catch the bus that will be operating to ferry people around for the event.
