  • ASRA at RAA Temora Natfly 2010.

G"day all.RAA are staging there annual Nationals (Natfly) at Temora NSW this year. This is the first time they have ever held them there. Seems Temora will become there new venue now on.Natfly will be held from Thursday 1st, until Sunday the 4th of April 2010. From some of the feedback I received from RAA officials, seems they are expecting this years to be one of the biggest years ever.I am planning to fly across from Victoria with several other Victorian gyroplanes. We have booked a 10 x 15 m site (number 27) and will be representing ASRA, VSRA, and Gyroplane flying in general.I would like to take this opportunity to invite you (those who are not able to attend the WA ASRA Nationals) to join us at Temora, and help promote our sport. What we would like is a good spread of machines, starting from single seat open frame machines, to the fully enclosed 2 seaters. We would also like to see the 2 seat machines involved in conducting as many TIF"s as possible. RAA Nationals Information http://www.auf.asn.au/natfly/index-natfly.htmlTemora Aviation Museum http://www.aviationmuseum.com.au/If you would like to join us at Temora please ensure you contact me, ASAP. Information we require is 1) Your name.2) Contact number and Email.3) Type of gyroplane.4) Gyroplane location driving or flying from.5) Of course you will require the usual (if you intend on flying) , Radio with endorcement, Aerodrome endorcement, above 500 endorcement, & cross country endorcement.Looking forward to a great weekend and lots of gyro interest over the 4 days.Regards SamL...........................

Good one Sam.We as an organisation need to be more proactive and to be seen by the public.I do not believe in us being secular and insulated from other aviation enthusiasts. We all love flying and that is what it all about.

Absolutely right, thats why those gyropilots who decide to flyin must have all the necessary endorsements. There will be a NOTAM issued shortly, which I will post here for those flying in to read. It will detail all flyin and joining procedures for Temora over that period.Regards SamL..............

This is excellent.I"m guessing that Burren Junction is about 4hours or so flying from Temora, so Easter looks in future to be a split, but close enough to be comutable for a lot of pilots, what a wow of a weekend. If this works then it would be the perfect for the majority of Aus pilots.

Sam,What"s your deadline for signing up!Mitch. No deadline Mitch, but we will need to be picky (with the gyro selection) as the site will only hold about 4-6 gyros max.Your Butterfly would be a great machine to have on display. Let me know as soon as you can mate.Regards SamL.........................

ASRA site has been moved to site 27. GTGyroplanes, and Rotor Craft Aust. have booked site 28, so all our gyros will be on display in the one area.Regards SamL....................

Temora sounds great. But it"s pretty sad when their is more info about this event than the Nationals at W.A I think that the Nationals should be more a showcase of the gyro world. I remember when I went to my first Nationals I thought it would be more people showing there products, people with stands with new and innovative stuff.More like a trade show. I must admit I was a little disappointed
