ASRA National Flyin 2011

Hello All.Some info so far on the Nats.Location: Burren Junction airstrip,90 K"s west of Narabri (NSW).11,12,13 June.Quite country strip with no GA traffic apart from the occasional AG plane. Unsealed but kept in good condition. Legal low fly areas close by.The town: Very Gyro friendly, about 4 K"s from the strip. RSL,Pub (rooms and cabins)0267961440. Meals every night at the RSL,presentation dinner Sunday night.Camping: At the strip, communal campfire every night.Quite drinks and lie telling encouraged.Toilets on site. Showers at the motel($2 I think) or soak in the hot bore baths.Fuel: 92 Octane/Diesel at the local servo.98 Octane at the strip from drums.PLEASE advise if you need 98 so we can have a bit of an idea how much we will need.The usual competitions,flour bomb,spot landing, best presented gyro etc etc.Photo competition; Best photo taken at the Nats gets on the cover of Gyro News AND photographer gets 12 months free membership.At least 5 two seater"s are confirmed as attending so far. Plenty of opportunities for TIF"s,BFR"s or training.TA"s on site for gyro"s that need signing off for registration. Gyro"s will be arriving from Wednesday onwards.

Hello All.The usual competitions,flour bomb,spot landing, best presented gyro etc etc.Can any of you seasoned guys explain a little about the competitions?

Keith,I dunno what"s involved with the nats but there"ll be lots of rat baggin around the paddocks looking for pigs followed by beer in the bore baths..

Hi All,The Nationals will now be held on the 1/2/3 October. We will go with the same venue and hopefully it will be a bit drier but it will defiantely be warmer.Thats a long weekend in NSW and SA so for those in other states start planing your sickies now!

Dear ASRA member. As you would probably be aware the nationals at Burren Junction were cancelled this year due to the weather.Whilst they didn"t get quite the rain predicted it did rain along with miserable cold conditions. We have rescheduled the Nationals for the 1/2/3/ October this year at the same venue.The Monday is a public holiday in NSW and SA but a normal weekend in other states (time for a sickie?) Please if you are able come along and have a fun weekend and try pitting your skills against other pilots and hopefully take home a trophy. Please support the association that supports you!
