  • Best Chinese Quad/Motorbike?

Not exactly a gyro related question but does anyone have any experience with one brand or the other of quad or motorbikes? eBay has plenty of cheap ones but how do you sort the p#o from the clay? Which ones should be avoided?Hoges

Hoges,I"ve had a bit of experience with the smaller kids ones and they are OK for kids. After 12-18months when they start to give a bit of trouble the kids are ready to upsize. I think if you want something with dependability and reliability go to yamaha. They have a great finance package available.

I havent heard of any of the Chinese quads lasting anymore than 6 months. However, they are cheap so you basically get what you pay for. A mate of mine bought two chainsaws on ebay and when I see him next, I will ask him how they went as he would have used them by now.I bought a Polaris 500 sportsman and nothing but nothing rides like a Polaris, even my mate a dedicated Honda man reckoned he made a blew buying 2 new Honda 420"s. Have had mine for 2 years and would not go back to a 2 wheeler again ...ever.

Tah Baz and Brian,Quads certainly seem pretty popular for work and having fun as well. I never thought of financing one Baz.

Mine is a work horse and a great one at that, bit like the gyro I guess, 99 % work and 1% play.Yamaha particularly advertise a fairly low interest rate although you would have to check the charges to make sure you werent actually paying as much as a bank loan. Something on the TV last night advertised a 2. something interest rate which shows the company is keen to do a deal. Some businesses are very keen to do a deal so its a buyers market out there at the moment, the govt cash stimulus is /has come to a end ?.

Got a little 2 stroke off ebay about 4 years ago for the kids. The electric start crapped itself pretty quickly but apart from that it was fantastic. Could not tell you the brand of it as I don"t think it had a brand name.Cheap bit of fun for the kids (and big kids).

Thanks for that Firefly, it"s probably worth a punt as they are cheap enough and we"ll probably be using it more for fun anyway. I wouldn"t like to try and make one for what they cost on eBay.Hoges

When you deal with these chinese imports you will find they are not always on the level, it"s got something to do with all the slopes over in their country.Graeme.

Hate to disappoint you brian but you had better check where your polaris came from, cause some come from China and Korea. Most of the japanese makers source bikes from China
