Bit like 'ol mate at Bellata (between Moree & Narrabri) pulled into a 8000acre barley crop with two headers. Went the full length of the paddock , turned around & came back both with an empty box so chucked a match in it & sowed sorghum. The frost hit while the barley was flowering.

Just shows you how fickle a frost can be. We had guys delivering Barley from the North Star area, near record production they claimed. Its the worst feeling when guys deliver and you toss the half litre measure into the screener and you hear the sound of grain falling through the sieves before you start to shake it. They used a lot of money to produce the crop only to see if fall well outside either weight or screenings. Moisture you can live with, but you have to tell them...."Sorry mate outside the specs, and we can't take it."Ted

I know that paddock,Phil.I flew over it a few times. Some reckon canola stinks while its flowering , but it always reminds me of that time of year. Lets hope we see a lot more crops like that.

Yep, we are still praying!! I see some of Queensland had good rain, how far did it come down into NSW ? Nothing to stop you from praying too Phil, you dont have to go to church to pray. we all need rain bad.Nah, rabbits havent been a problem since the Calici was released which is good as if they had been like they were back before the Calici, the whole western division would have been an empty dust bowl back in the 90's !!BrianYou never know how far you can go, till you get there !
