G"Day Gents,Over the last few days I have been putting the MLS unit and Double Slider Head on my gyro. The limiting factor on rotor rpm is how well the obsolete "puck" brakes hold, ie at what engine rpm they give up holding the gyro. Hegar have only got the experimental type now which are rated I believe to 1500 lbs all up weight. The old "puck" brakes are rated for a 500 lbs aircraft.Larry has advised 270 rrpm on the experimental brakes for the 503 MLS and guesses around 200-220 maybe possible with my old "pucks". ;DCheers,Mitch

Yes guys haved moved back up north. All went well dodging storms and floodwater, missed seeing Bones and his pride and joy as we had to make a detour around some water. Will be back down for the nats to catch up with all there.Mitch, I will pay for your fuel if you fly that machine of yours across the creek.Graeme.

G"Day Gents,Last two pics.Everything went together really well apart from the pull start, which played up no matter what I did to it. The pull start rop would not retract, yet I followed the rotax manual and still iut would not function.Any ideas????I have one switch to solder in place, put the blades on get the pull start to function correctly and away we go!Mitch.

MLS was tested today at Cranbourne.Spun up twice. Very soft start and lots of HP pumping through this pre-rotator.I will post test data from the next test session. Today was simply testing the air cylinder ram, belt track and other components, for correct function.Awesome it is really Awesome.Full size pics in the gallery at www.rotorcraft.com.au

G"Day Bro,I was advised my air ram may be fully extending and causing the engine to race to much. I will have to adjust. The slip clutch is designed to kick in at 2600 eng rpm, the belt will be spinning well before this point is reached and then the slip clutch lets the blades start up real gentle but they have some serious power being put thru them as the throttle is slowly advanced.Plenty more testing to come and steady steady for me these days ole Mate.Give my love to Rosie. Hope you both are well and happy.Take care Brian.Mitch.
