Thank God I have Nick watching my every move. G'Day Russell,Open trailered gyros on the Spirit Ferry Crossing go on as freight,at freight rates. Example:- Butterfly on open trailer from Devonport to Melbourne, return Sydney to Devonport cost $1546. (Total)GyroVan registered as Caravan same trip $346 (Total)Govt subsidises caravans in order to encourage tourism. Freight is freight, no matter why or what for. There is a Bass Strait Freight equalisation scheme but realistically I have not seen any real benefit from it with respect to Butterfly imports. To be registered as Caravan required left side or rear door with handleopening inside to out. Fixed bed and table. Fixed gas stove with fixed gaslines, signed off by gas fitter. GAS BOTTLE MOUNTED EXTERNALLY!!!!!(As per Nicks Instructions)I picked up the window for $5 and installed above stove. Rear tail gate permanently fixed drops down and with front of GyroVan jacked up, the whole floor and ramp arrangement makes for easy loading. GyroVan can be used for transporting off road bikes for my youngest son.Doing the sums, Costs of GyroVan...approx $5300, it only takes a few trips to pay for itself. The big bonus of course is that you have your own accomodation, which allows for more $$$$ to be invested in flying time.Russell, we live in a shack (building house on same block) plenty of room, you are welcome anytime.Cheers,Mitch.G'Day Nick,Are you comming to Cooma, I seem to recall reading some where you are now possibly attending. I have a couple of small jobs to do on Butterfly to get me flying for Cooma if it's not downgraded to a CTAF.Cheers,Mitch.www.thebutterflyllc.com

Russ,As long as the boat is not more than 2.2m high on the trailer then it's slightly dearer than a caravan, over this height and you start incurring freight charges. Both boat and caravan costs are incrementally increased with length. Give yourself a minimum of two weeks, even then you will be rushing about. From my place it's three hours to Hobart, 2 1/4 hrs to Craddle Mt and 2 mins to Flathead, Blackback Salmon, ect ect. Not quite on a par with the Top End Barra fishing but you'll catch your fill, no worries. See ya down this way when your ready.Cheers,Mitch.www.thebutterflyllc.com

Butterfly GyroVan, requires gas fitters ticket on fixed lines to stove, decals, tie down points for Butterfly and finishing of the drop down beds off the side walls. Get it registered and get to Cooma.Mitch.Image Insert: 74.68

The middle pic does not show it clearly, with the jocky wheel jacked up, the floor of van and drop gate are on the same plane. No winch required, easy load. Running boards to be installed on drop gate.Mitchwww.thebutterflyllc.com
