Question Dewhurst how do you know they are Larkin blades,& not J.A. ? Also saw you machine on sunday looks very neet, hope to catch up soon, as I am training with Paul.regards Sam L. quote:Originally posted by dewhurst[]Hello all Merry Christmas There will not be any photos taken from my red monster for a while as it has been grounded. It turns out that the s/hand Jack Allen blades I bought are in fact Larkin blades!!!!!! Very disappointing. (No disrespect to Mr. Larkin)They are very good blades to fly under. So I will be sitting around for a while until I come to terms with my optionsImage Insert: 40.43 KBDewie

Just make a new hub bar. It's not rocket science and will cost you very little. Mine now flies wonderfull and has done about 20hrs on the new bar. Ken

Greame, I got onto Jack Allan and my blades are his.The differences are, he uses a solid exposed leading edge, with rivitted sheeting from behind it to the trailing edge.Larkin has sheet right around the leading edge. Also the blade root is tapperd and Larkins is square as shown in your photo. He went on to explain that all his hubs are made from 6061T6 Thanks again!![] Sam.

Hello all, Had a offer to try some 25' Goodwin blades while I am waiting for a new hub bar on my Larkin blades. Not being slow to say yes I was away ASAP. They are chalk and cheese!!!! The Goodwin blade is nearly 10 knots faster at the same engine rpm and the rotor speed is 30rpm faster. All very interesting to a newbie.I also fitted up a new tail rudder assembly (you have to do some thing when you are grounded.)Image Insert: 51.22 KBDewie

Dewie, to be fair, you need to point out that the Goodwin blades are the earlier standard bonded blades, not his newer extruded blades.Aussie Paul. []www.firebirdgyros.com

Gday all Just a few pics I shot while test flying prop adjustments last sunday. I am finding a lot of these old blue stone buildings around the area which can not be seen from the road[]Image Insert: 62.38

Some of us were flying over some country at one stage that looked very similar to that. Got a call from Ross R.- "You blokes come over here and have a look at this. There is a large haystack over here that is hollow and there is lush green growth in the middle." I give the gyro a tickle behind the ears with the whip and got out of there as quick as I could.Tim McClure
