Hi Matt, AK"s are avail;able from NZ I am told but I havent heard of anyone gettting a set.Rob Patroney quoted me approx $ 4,200 for a set of 27 ft 6. My last set of 27 ft from AK were $4,000. You can get Sport Copters for about 5 to 6 landed here...thou . They apparently have their problems which surprised me seeing they are able to find their own lead lag etc.

Hey Matty,I think I"ll be hanging on to my Pats, as we discussed.I reckon price will be down to a set of tip weighted GG"s or DW"s landed for near enough the same price.DW"s will require a pre-rotator, you mentioned your getting to that anyway.Good luck with your hunt. A trusted second hand set might be the go.G"Day Brian,Haven"t heard sportcopter blades had issues. Can you share what you know?Cheers,Mitch

I admire your workmanship, if only you could get tradies to work to the same standard !The sport copters with their technolgy, you would think would be perfect but the reports I have, suggest they can shake as much as any other make of rotors. Sure, you can fiddle with them but why should they need fiddling

Yeah cheers Brian, nearly there mate. Interesting stuff there Brian. Thanks for responding. The whole "trip" with blades could do a blokes head in. And I know it gets more complicated the bigger the disc.I like annodised alloy and fancy multi adjustment gizmos too. Like you say not much point if you cant get it adjusted right.Matty you"ll pay GST on the freight and cost of blades, so $3300 for a set of tip weighted 28ft. What"s Gerry want for the same thing?Dont forget about the DW"s propensity to flap, until you get the rips up.See you blokes soon on the other side of the little ditch.Mitch

Guys,Ive been told of 3 sets of AK"s that have come to WA from NZ so far. So they must be doing something right. Also Gerry Goodwin and Rob Patroney make a great rotor here in OZ. Ive rarely have to help any one to set these up unless they have had a mild blade strike.Regarding Dragon Wings, once again I have been asked to assist someone here in the west set up a new set that shake badley. The first thing we did was put a known set of mine (not Dragon Wings!) on his Monarch to check if the problem was the head. "Smooth as" the owner replied after he tried my blades on his gyro so next Friday we will start "tuning" the Dragon Wings . Unfortunatley my success rate with DW is no where near 100%. The other issue with the DW"s is you need a good prerotator as they are nearly impossible to hand start ( Murray Barker is the only one I know who claims to have done it) and very prone to blade flap.Based on my experience stick to the Aust blades as in the end they are better value for money. Just my 10c worthAdrian
