Cutting down Blades.

I have inherited a set of blades 25' but with inboard damage possibly by rotor strike. I need a second opinion as to the feasability of cutting 2' - 3" off each blade and making up a 4' Hub bar. Making the Blades 9' - 9" per blade 23' - 6" Total. Personally I think they'll be OK on a s/seater. Can anyone shoot down my theory?
