Hi KenI the old days most gyros only had 1 trim spring, and it was to counter the offset gimbal head. Today most gyro"s still fitted with single springs will require it to be offset to one site to counter any roll tendancies. For that reason one spring makes it very difficult to trim for hands off flight. I fitted 2 trim springs to my machine. One is for pitch and the other for roll. I have also helped counter the head offset by placing my pre-rotator central and behind my head. This allows for a very light weight pitch trim spring, and in some cases machines have been trimmed to fly without one at all.I feel this makes for easy hands off trimming of the machine. Add a motor driven worm drive to this system and you have the best of both worlds.Good luckRegards SamL......
