  • AN Bolts

Hi everyone, I need some info to source AN12-37 bolts. Thats 3/4".for the jesus bolt. I have tried all the usual places with negative feedback. I can get the smaller bolts. Also some info on tower and teeter block dimensions for different size blades.and the acceptable clearance between hub bar and stops. Any info is appreciated. Thank you. Cheers, Kon

Thanks for your response Disco and TSemler. I have tried Avaiquip and Aircraft spruce and many others. The response I get is, they cant get them as they are a special bolt. I know AN grade bolts is the way to go and I would prefer this. I will pay the $100 bucks for this bolt as my life will depend on it ,but has anyone used a grade 8 bolt for the jesus bolt. The plans I have state 5/8" grade 8. I am increasing the size to 3/4". What do you think. Cheers

Hi KonCan"t give ya an answer to your question regarding Grade 8 gear, I believe somewhere in the building regulations it forbids non AN gear used in critical structrual areas. If i was you I would seek advise from other rotorhead manufactures E.g. Ross Symes (He may even have the bolt you desire.) His number is in the GyroNews.Regards

Why not ring Rosco and ask him what size he uses on all his mustering machines that he has built and are still flying, I would be happy with that.Graeme.

I get all my bolts from rosco. Allso had a mate who crashed with a grade 8 "J " bolt, and it snapped, sending the blades off spinning. AN bolts will just bend. I show students a box filled with bent samples. Even got an AK hub bar very bent, and looks like no signs of cracks.
