Nothing is ever for an aircraft..... nothing! "It"s for a custom built machine" works pretty well, "with a 165hp car engine in it" "Oh that"s OK then."

Not sure what brand of bendix RAF use - but there are a few on Ebay, new $60 to $70 delivered. May be worth a look.

If it"s only the teeth that are worn, recently we had the problem on a sparrow hawk and we unrolled the clutch housing on a ford/ holden drive ass. and removed the pinion teeth, ground a bit off it with angle grinder, and it fitted and got us out of the poo. (the pinion didn"t go as far into the ring gear as the original) The drive assembly was off a dirrect drive bosch starter.

I think you will find the RAF bendix is out of a Lycoming aircraft engine, hope this helps, also, I have shagged the teeth before, seems it be caused by obviously incorrect meshing ie; clearance gap etc.RegardsDerek Zandbergen NZ
