soft start 12v prerotator

Would this controller work on a starter motor type prerotator ?

Most of us here are using a piece of thick (high wattage) nichrome wire resistor across an exteral solenoid wired in serries with the starter motor main terminal. The motor starts slow and when you want high speed you flick a switch and it closes the solenoid, bridging the resistor. I"ve had the system for many years. Simple and cheep.

just saw the soft start prerotator. Can anyone please send a scematic drawing, where all the wires go and the type of solenoid. I could use one on mine. Much appreciated. Thanks a lot. Cheers
