I have observed lots of well built gyro"s in my days and am surprised to often see two buttons on the dash designed to operate a horn and not starter motors. The implications of a button going to closed circuit in the pre. rot. circuit in flight frightens me! I often observe only 3mm cable feeding the solenoid and sometimes the starter won"t pop in. The solenoid needs around 40 amps for a split second to pull the plunger. The problem can be sorted so easy with a good quality button and some heavy cable. If you don"t want heavy buttons and wiring you can fit a relay very close to each starter motor.
