  • Whistling rotor

A mate tried his new set of extruded rotors last weekend, one blade was singing a high pitched whistling song at the tip even at around 100rpm,at 300 roos were scattering ,no obvious places for wind to whistle through other than a Phillips head screw in the end cap,but there is one on the other end,any ideas ,he is tearing his hair out and there ain"t much left now ,won"t recognise him soon if it isn"t sorted .both blades look identical

Stuff a blob of "quality" silicon into BOTH screw heads.

Jumeau,Any air gap on the tip of a rotor plade will cause a noise and if bad enough will transmit a vibration and sometimes this becomes rotor shake. It doesnt take much to cause this to happen.Adrian

this one offending rotor could still be heard at the other end of a 900 metre strip, new moulded tip caps might solve the problem, we will see ,post the results when its fixed
