Hi Rob, Nearly forgot - unfortunately Rob Glenn has been snaffled by CASA, and they aren't giving him time off for Gyro training. There is also another Instructor in the Ballarat area, who trains in a tandem machine - Wayne Morgan.LlewellaThe law of Inverse Relevance: the less you intend to do about something, the more you have to keep talking about it.

Ding,What did you do with the VW engine?I still have my skyhook gyro and it is fun to fly, although at 92 kg and 2250 ASL the VW motor on mine is a little stretched. What was the CC's of the aeropower motor?Mark.

Hi Mark,The motor is still sitting in the machine here at home, thought it might come in handy for an ultrlight project in the future (maybe). It's a 2100CC motor - about 78 horses at 3,700 rpm. I think most straight drives would be a little stretched where you live wouldn't they ?? - why not a turbo'd EA81 ?? Not trying to put you off another VW but just being realistic I guess.Safe Flying ... ding Insanity is hereditory, you get it from your kids!

Nothing wrong with being realistic,Although, It DOES fly! an extra couple of horses would make it a great little machine rather than something that is light and fun to fly.Nothing wrong with a VW machine, its just that there are better (heavier more boring) things to fly these days. Its fun flying something at 60kts across the ground(into a headwind) that is light enough to flick around wherever you want and is forgiving on landings.Mark.

Mark, what HP is your VW getting and what revs are you flying at ?? I found that with a change of props I got the revs I wanted - about 3,700 which put me up into the powerband I wanted to get maximum HP. With the origional prop I could only nurse it off the ground and the machine was barely minimul. I'm curious as to what other VW's are running at, not questioning how you've got it set up.Safe Flying ... ding Insanity is hereditory, you get it from your kids!

Ding,I never touched this machine except to get the timming correct. The machine was set up by Ted Minty and is a gro called the skyhook. everyone tells me they are old technology.... and they are right! but it is still fun to fly.mark.

Yep ok, so long as your having fun - thats what it's all about. Out of interest Mark, have you got any pictures of your machine and is it still origional with the pod ?Safe Flying ... ding Insanity is hereditory, you get it from your kids!
