Today I transitioned Mark (Telf on the forum) from Hybrid into a 503 powered open frame single seat gyro. Mark conducted some balancing on the mains, then some strip runs at approx 5' and 10', finally finishing with 2 circuits. This was conducted throughout the day in 5 sessions, after a satisfactory dual session of circuits in Hybrid.[^]Mark had rung re training and asked if he could solo without bringing his machine[?] Mark has a half share in a an almost identical machine. He lives in Alice Springs and did not want to drag his gyro down, he would rather fly airline.I told him that I could supply a similar gyro for him to conduct the required solo hours in. Today was the culmination of that phone call a few months ago.[]A great day with another solo student to add to my collection. I just love this job!!!!! []O.B. Aussie Paul. Telf Speaks-Yep, I did it.Many thanks to Maddog and Waddles for the tifs at Bond last year. They were the inspiration for it all. Also Phil, Doc & Llewella, Wal, Chris, Birdman and anyone else that answered my silly questions there.Biggest thanks goes out to Paul Bruty for his excellent training. This I cannot understate. He has an amazing knack of working out where a student is at then challenging him. His methods are thorough while still cost and time effective.Again, thank you Paul. The guys at Lethbridge Airpark were great and the accom there was only $15 a night. The only person who loses is Glen Saxby who owns the other half of our gyro. Might have to draw up a roster now, mate.........telfPS I can distinctly remember my AUF instructor saying to me that although I had my license, it was only a license to learn.Don't forget that and you'll live longer.
