  • VHF gyro chat amoung GA

Guys, we always need to be careful to leave a good impression with the other aircraft disciplines.

Hi Dean,I can back you up there, nicely written, I"m in the GA industry and i do find myself quite often defending gyro,s and the those who fly them, at times.I do believe culture is changing. Also some pilots may not be aware, that even though some airports may have a dedicated CTAF freq, and from that you may feel isolated and free to chat, but it is also allocated to other CTAFs in different areas and the transmission does travel.Regards.SamW

I find it a little annoying, not just on the safety side of it tying up the airway but who wants to listen to someone elses conversation?

This is very true, the CTAF freq. here last for about 300nm, i can hear people about 200nm so yes please use the chat freq

With regard to blocking up the freq. with info people don"t need, it is very annoying when you are trying to talk to your student/passenger.
