Fat lota help you clowns are.Maybe if im a bit more specific. All i want to do, and can afford the time to do [and am capable of do'n] is instruct the actual flyn bit. Rules n regs and all the irrelivent stuff i don't no meself, so i couldn't teach it.Id just git um to the stage of taken off and gitn back ona ground without die'n, and when they git the time, go south for the rest to git the student licence thingy.Coz time away from their beloved cows is wots holdn them up[ or down]. they can't afford the time to go interstate for learn'n the tricky bits, but if i could do it ere, then the theory stuff could be done by corrispondence.Possable??Ignorance is bliss............but only till you realise you were.birdy, here.

You'se guys... 'avin' a go at Birdy 'ere, c'mon fella's, "Fair suck of the sauce bottle"!Just maybe, what we should consider is a different class of schooling for prospective students:1] Theory instructor {someone who can explain what a flight instructor can't show you, eg, what happens when you go negative}2] Flight instructor {someone who can show what a theory instructor can't explain, eg, how to fly a gyro}So people like Dave can contribute, as there is absolutely no doubt he can fly, and a lot better than some of the most academically qualified people within the ASRA realm. The funny thing is that over time Birdy and his like would become articulate in explaining the theory, as he would be presented with more challenges to explain himself, practice makes perfect.Cheers,Nicholas TomlinAlarmist - www.alarmist.com.au - we scare for you

with respect Nik, if the instructer can't explain the dangers of and causes of negative Gs, he shouldn't be instructing.Instructers should know everythn, i don't, so i can't be a proper instructer. I do however, know wot these blokes wana do in they gyros, so i recon i can give a bit in that respect. But i know jack sh** bout aviation.Ignorance is bliss............but only till you realise you were.birdy, here.

Birdy, I disagree with you, if you can teach a bloke how to fly a gyro and teach them what they need to know in the air, then it follows that you know heaps about aviation because staying in the air requires a lot of knowledge. Its more like you have less time for bookwork stuff and would rather be doing something else...like flying...and besides, what dont you know ??? I'm sure most of the stuff needed to be known by a student /instructor is in the ASRA operations manual.Anyway, thats just my two bobs worth !BrianPooncarie NSW

Another option, if I may comment on this, is to give instruction on advanced flying after someone has soloed and had a little experience. This requires no paperwork except a passenger endorsement. In fixed wing, I had one flight with an instructor with over 20,000 hours and flew differently from that day on. I wouldn't have understood what he showed me if I didn't have a fair bit of time in the air before then. Personally I'd love to fly with some of our high hour pilots like Birdy and Brian if they had the time. The same goes for my initial instructor when he is again available. Dave

Ya sorta missed the point Brian, flyn is ALL i got sum knowlage/experiance with[ same as you]. Its the rest of the learn'n i know nuthn bout, and I can't teach wot I don't know.Dave, i'm not talkn bout any advanced flyn or anythn, only the basics of getn up n getn down.If they want to enter into the dark side, i could do that after.Ignorance is bliss............but only till you realise you were.birdy, here.
