  • Need Gyro CFI for Two Week Training Stints....and Foreign Conversion

I, like so many others, am looking to get gyrocopter training. If someone is available or would oblige to two week stints of training (I work two weeks on, two off), let me know. Living in the Philippines I need to spend a chunk of change to just go down to Australia---but figure it well worth it!Also, was wondering what is involved to have a foreign private gyrocopter rating from U.S.A. or Canada converted to an Australian one? Any idea?

Bush Pilot,There are a number of CFI"s available in Australia that will help you , one of the first things you will need to do is join ASRA as we oversee and regulate on behalf of CASA all gyro training in Australia.I suggest you contact Allan our Ops Manager for more details regarding the conversion requirements. Regarding CFI"s who are avail for block training you could try Kevin Traeger SA or Willi Ewig NSW as these guys are well known for accomadating block training. The relevent contact details can be found elsewhere on this site.Hope this helps,AdrianAdrian STOFFELSVice PresidentASRA

Thanks Adrian. Much appreciated. I will do exactly that.Have you any idea, off the top of your head, if any "credit" is given for cross country experience obtained, for say your private airplane license? Just wonderings.Cheers,Keary Bevan
