Hi All,I am very sorry to read this evening that Allans trip has ended early due to a willy willy encounter at Warberton in West Australia. Please refer to the web site for Details. I can appreciate the power of these willy willy's from a personal experiance as can Peter Barsden does, so to all Gyro pilots please never underestimate the power of them. Des Garvin W.A.

Pick,A willy willy or dust devil, is a bit like a localised mini tornado. In most cases you can usually stay on your feet if one passes over you but it is no plce for a Gyro !Sorry to hear about the accident Guys but you have still set a record.Cheers.Image Insert: 16.17

Guys,I spoke to Allan yesterday and it appears that the "willy willy" struck as Allan was about to flare and land. Warburton is a reasonably large bitumin strip that hides willy willys because you cant always see the dust tails when they head your way. Bad luck but still a great effort to get that far. Adrian.
