Rob,Out of curiosity was that in combination with anything else, like hemp? I remember from around 30 years back the Gilbarco fuel pump blokes used stag and locktite to seal things on the service station bowsers I used be a jumper on.Agree with you on the teflon tape issue, if it is a critical thing like a fuel line to an engine it is always a good idea to purge the connection with fuel after you"ve made all the joints - up to the fuel pump inlet as a string of teflon, as can happen, would end up in your fuel pump check valves, resulting in low fuel pressure or none at all.Once all that is done it is a good idea to run the engine for long enough to use the fuel in the lines up around 3 times over, then check the carburettor bowls for contamination.Cheers,Nic.

G"day Nick, just straight stag on the steam lines. I heard using hemp with other substances can cause psychotic episodes. ;DAn simple inline strainer between the tank and fuel pump is the best to stop any crap making its way in to ya fuel pump or carby.I first heard Anti seize was going to be outlawed about ten years, maybe they will ban it when they ban smoking.

Mate..... ;DIt"s all good Birdy. I"m told it builds character :.....It certainly helps with the more colourfull words in my vocabulary.Again, mouchos, graziass! Had a feeling there would be others. ;DHad the engine running today..all systems looking good.....all but one. I am having no end of trouble getting my pushrods sorted....to much left stick travel and getting binding of the rodend right side at the stick end, which as stated binds just before the stop is reached at the head. This results in a little bind just before the stop and causes a little defelection of the push rod. I dont think it is highly critical but it is bloody annoying.More annoying is the dramatic left stick travel, which seems to be about twice as much as right stick travel. No with the more elevated position the left stick means make way with your left leg for full left stick. Push rods 49 and 50 inches long....Might have to go back to about 49 1/2 " on the left side push rod to reduce the left stick travel?????Mitch.
