Hi Bob,There are quick release systems out there that are a better idea than a semi-permanent attachment.Hang gliders use a system of multi rings with a small pin that is attached to a lanyard in close proximity to the pilot. A small tug on the pin lanyard and the tow rope is released. Also this system uses a small guide rope attached to the nose of the hanglider that is a set length. If the glider noses over past the set angle of this rope the attachment point self releases..... The idea is to have both a pilot activated quick release and an automatic one for a rollover...... nothing worse than being dragged along the runway on your side.A couple of mates and I taught ourselves to hangglide using a V8 ute and a 500ft nylon rope at VRD in the NT. We made a trolley so we could lay in the prone position and up we went..... what a laugh. Sounds dangerous I guess, but at least we had the quick release system in place if needed.CheersPaul

Paul you just proved my point!! "My experienced includes 30 years of not bending anything and then several mishaps making contributions to the super funds of the rotor blade and prop manufacturers etc!!".. Sounds like old age setting in to me fella.PeteBairnsdale,Vic.

G,day Bob.Mate, I dont own a pair of boots, its a waste of energy draggin themthings around. Here in Oz alota folks still use the pointed stick fer digging upbush tucker and bashin Goanna's on the head. I like fresh cooked Goanna. They are good also for digging for water along a dry creek bed. Matter of fact I have a very good pointed stick, my wife reckons its a crutch but I call it a tool. What do wifes know about it anyway, just because I lean onit occasionally doesn't mean I'm takin a rest, its because I am seriously thinking about what I can put off doing untill tomorra, and you need to give this a lot of thought, eh.Gotta fess up tho, my wife does occasaionally refer to me as a Bodasauras.Have fun in the Gyro Glider, I envy you.Cheers.Robert DunnMackay. Welp, the towing the gyro idea isn't looking too good..Dad isn't showing any enthusiusum for the idea at all, and I am still very hesitant so I think I will just continue doing what I was doingand take it as it comes along... I still have a long way to go to get back to where I was last summer anyway, perhaps with the new rotors it will be more eager to get airborne than it was ... I am also hopeing to find more calm days this year by starting earlier in the morning ...thats supposed to help ! I'll let ya all know what happens !C ya !Bob........"
