  • Front wheel turning angle

Ok all you knowledgable people...Just how far should the front wheel on a gyro turn?I have been told around 17 degrees each way is about right.Anyone care to provide their gyros' front wheel turning angles for comparison?Cheers!Lloyd

Not sure about the angle until I go to the airport and measure it Lloyd but if you get it right the trailing nosewheel can be made to turn safely on a dime. Be very wary however if it is not a self centering wheel or you can easily p.i.o. whilst taxying.PeteBairnsdale,Vic.

Or just get the geometry correct. This set-up turns on a dime both ways and the trailing nosewheel is quite forgiving with no braking on any of the wheels on this model. Though the picture does not show, the steering comes off both pedals so the push rod is duplicated on the starboard side as well. PS For the benefit of Nick, the tyre has since been replaced.Image Insert: 64.56

Thanks for the responses guys. Much appreciated. My wheel unfortunately is not the trailing type however, which is why I am concerned with getting the turning angle right.Cheers!Lloyd
