The clear hard stuff is what we use on the karts, but occasionally they blow apart when you think your going to hit something. Ken

I got mine at the local autopro store and they had olives too.Thats where I got mine, well the wife did. It is the thin walled stuff. Ive just done some homework and turns out the tube that Hegar use is Nylaflow Pressure Tubing type H.......hard wall lining. The stuff I got is type T...thin walled lining and flexs with the lever depressing the piston in the MC.I get reasonable brakes...4000 eng rpm BUT not what the H type can deliver.I have samples of both and when I operate my system with fingers pinching the line I can feel the hose swelling. There is a a local Vic company that stock a type 12 semi rigid nylon tube, which has the same specs as the type 6/6 nylon used in the Nylaflow product.

Hegar Brakes, Black Max and some others which are experimental class are all sold with the heavy walled clear tube as far as I know.I guess it is for ease of installation, uses brass fittings with the "olives" and the joints done. No flaring tool required, no bending tools either. The weight issue with the US keeping it ultralight comes into it.The saga continues. The clear heavy walled stuff is hardly used here in the 3/16" size. Pirtek can get some in after spending most of yesterday on the phone.Trucks dont use the same rated stuff and gocarts are using 6 mm, aircompressor shops are using lower rated stuff. The product Hegar uses is 625 psi working pressure and 2,500 psi bursting pressure.Brotec plastic extrusions out of Victoria, supply the Purple Pig and others, they do not ordinarily supply the public, though after the lack of product info out there indicated by the "suppliers" yesterday, she rang me back and offered me a 100 m roll for $45 plus GST and Frieght.

G"Day Brian,Just to make sure I called another 4 or 5 places this morning. Nada! Zilch!Rang my good and helpfull friend at Pirtek who had helped with the seat tank, as he said he could get some in and rang back to say he had found 10 mtrs on the shelf up at Burnie.Everyone else I have spoken to says they dont keep it on the shelf..3/16" clear heavy walled that is.The Purple Pig in Hobart who are retail sellers told me I would have to buy 100 meters and it would cost me double what I could buy the equivalent amount direct from Brotec. Laughable! >Well Mate I just checked the emails and the stuff from the USA is a week in transit already.Tomorrow I will go get what Pirtek have and make a day of it in the "big stick".The saga draws to an end. :P :Too much fun Brian, too much fun!Mitch

While discs are more expensive, they would give much more braking and look pretty cool as well !!
