How can soot get to the MAF unless your sitting in a shed, and your full of it regarding all the guages needed to keep them going(got nether), i got 406k on mine, last service i think was 18k ago, and i only drive it real gentle like, 160 on the bitumen and only to about 130 on the dirt.yep real delicate things they are, but like those rotax things ayyy but then i guess it just my luck.Spot on Bones....I"m thinking sensor in the exhaust. Why ? not sure really

Fitted the new MAF thingo today, fired up and purred. waiting for this shyte weather to clear, then intend to blast to 2000ft above me strip, and do an hour or 2 of doing me darndest to get this engine to cough..........let"s see.......( saw quite a lot of oily residue inside the old MAF......thanks K&N ) All my aviation yrs i just point and go.........whatevers under me, don"t give a damn. This engine has to show it"s got it............first soob to put me down unplanned. ( except for those sub4 pieces of shyte out of bundaberg some yrs back ) Wouldn"t get them to fix me motor mower.Brian...........my man here, engine guy, first gyro he"s seen is this one..........he"s already smitten by them.....plans on getting one asap, with or without his wifes Ok. Deal is, he looks after me engine etc, i take him flying till then.......good deal.He mentioned changing the spark plugs to the new tecko ones........rekins they are brilliant, cost an arm and a leg tho.
If you aim for nothing, you'll hit it every time

Sam LaBruna had one of those systems. I wanted Brian to supply me with his systems for Firebird, he sent me all his hand written drawings to use as he wanted to slow down his work load. The Kruza boys had the drawings and put that system on Sam"s gyro. When I did my BFR with Sam he told me that they had some ECU problems and decided to change it out and put a Motec on it. Sam never said what the reasons were.Aussie Paul.

Maybe silicon grease around all the elecy plugsto prevent the moisture getting in just like your land telephone lines and irrigation control wires!!! Notice the holden dunny doors have "o" rings on some of their electronic plug in joiners in the engine bay. Bloody electronics pain in the BUTT big time. Yeh I know I am an old fashion mechanical systems person but at least I know what to do with them. Good advice for you computer controled machinery Change the wireing harnes every 5 years max or every 1000 hours which ever comes first. Aussie hase a very corosive enviroment which is hard on your exposed electronics. Just my 9 cents worth Des Garvin
