Russ, water in electrical connections is all part of connector deal. I had my engine mis fire coming back through heavy rain & it turned out moisture had got into the "igniter". Blew it out with compressed air [ through a miosture filter on the compressor] & then stuck a light coating of silicon around anywhere there was a join & havent had a problem since. If you use a high pressure water blaster, you are asking for big trouble as well. Clean up every connector, they have special sprays for corrosion, clean them up & seal everything up & use a truck wash instead of de greaser & hose off with light presure.

Des,Silicon grease or its derivitives and sealed plugs is the way the tractor fellows are going.

In 30+ yrs in aviation, I have never seen a high pressure washer used on an aircraft engine, just degreaser and a hose. There are some really good products out there at the moment for protection, I should be able to "liberate" some for you if you wish.

So.......concluding here, best you do some factual home work re all the comments you have above here, all are just "opinions"........and WRONG Yeah your probably right Russ, what would i know about EFI,turbos ect. Oh here is a pic of the EFI 914 rotax i got working that no one else could. This included completely writting the computer setting into the main EFI computer, setting everything from the spark advance and retard as the turbo boost comes in to prevent knocking, to fuel mixture, to start codes, to starting enrichment amounts as there is no choke, turning on and off everything that needed to be. Not to mention finding out the main problem with the set up that was stopping it from actually running in the first place. So you see i have actually done it.Also a friend dropped around yesterday arvo, her EFI car running like a bucket of crap, took 10 mins to find problem, after 2 different work shops couldnt find the problem. So some of us might actually know a couple of things, but you obviously got the right people in your corner so good luck. The old saying with computers, put crap in you get crap out.

it really has got him worried , i was expecting the usual mouthful to bones and all he came back with was a request, [ cause he never said please ]. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D russ can i ask what are you cleaning. is it oil and what from. i"ve got an issue with my auto flight now. oil from maybe the overflow tank/breather. i regret fitting it i was happier with the rotax. . but i only use a little spot sprayer, probably 8 to 10 lt/ min. just to let you know i fitted a garden spray nozzle on it.[bunnings]the garden spray has the rotary head. has about 6 or 8 different spray patterns, good little thing to use, has a spray pattern for everything i need. i let the cleaner do the work and i"m just rinsing off. currently using "toilet duck" lets face it ,if it moves **** then it can move ****. it must be enviromentally frindly cause it goes in the sewer, gentle on my hands bla bla bla.
