We have one of them latest epurb thingoes...........do they work in DENSE jungle.......like reeeeel dense jungle. Next time we go to the big smoke (Cairns) might grab a couple of marine smoke flares and tuck em behind the gyro seat......hate to be dying of thirst and hearing choppers buzzing about looking for ol russy, but not seeing me......shyteThen maybe we be stuck 300ft up a tree and no bleeding branches suitable to climb down...........christ, survive the crash, but get smashed trying to get down a bleeding tree.

Hey Russ.EPIRBS run on 406Mhz. Satellites pick up the signal and send to the local authority. The local rescue chopper, Rescue 510, has an infra red camera on board so will pick you up.The same chopper can home in on you using the EPIRB signal. You will be found if you can activate the EPIRB!Russ, I will be up at Tinaroo on the 25-26 Aug at an abseiling Scout camp. If you would like a can of ACF-50 gratis, let me know and you can slip down to Barrabadeen (Scout camp) as I can"t leave the grounds. Google Barrabadeen to get the location. There is phone signal there...Have a good oneBlue

interesting info recently............"engine coolants"Seems that using good after market coolants can be the wrong thing to do.................acquaintance is service manager for a fleet of cars......100 plus, they were using a top brand coolant into all vehicles, at some point they were getting abnormal faults with radiators / water gasket joints / heads etc.........after a lot of investigations they were alerted to how important it is to actually use a coolant that is recommended by their engine manufacturer, since they have now used coolants sold by each different car maker......ie holden coolant / ford coolant / etc etc........no more problems. It was learnt that each car maker gives the coolant makers the required formulae for engine protection for "their" engines..............interesting.

Hi Russ- Some years ago my wife cooked her Mazda 323 protege after a hose burst. It was towed to a "mechanic" in one of our local industrial areas for repair. I naturally went down to see what the damage was and if I was comfortable with this mechanic. VERY interesting. Long story short - he had his own water still (at significant cost) and had

                              • Been using Qbond for about 5 years on various things in the drilling line, yeh good gear to get you home and repair thins with a replacement part at times. It"s a bit touchy where viberation is concerned, just make sure you clean the parts with brake cleaner to remove your skin oil and it usally works fine. Don"t work for broken human parts though I have been told!!!!
