I haven"t given up on my ej25 "missing" problem. Did some more CRO tests without auto-set and the readings came out the same. As in all the injectors had the same patterns. Tried to put the photos on forum and gave up. Put the gyro in the back hanger and did other things. Tried meditating hoping Bryan M would help me but he must be having too much fun flying through space and time. Made inquiries as to another EFI system and decided to stick to the malony system as there"s plenty of gyro"s over east happily flying around with it. So I"m rewiring the engine area as I used the original ej25 loom, which has lots of spare wires, and joins. I"m being very careful to run all sensor wires through coax to avoid any induction interference. (job not yet finished)

Max the problem with the shotgun approach is that you will never know what caused the fault. In a previous life I worked for telstra and we had a stamp for fault clearance -CGWFACame good while F****ing around or the polite description "came good while fault analyzing".Russel you would be number 2 wanting to know what this original fault is.Regards........Chook.

Point well made, Chook. Same went in the Auto elect. trade. Personally I don"t expect the rewire to fix it. I should of thrown away the bulky loom on day one. Nows my chance. If the new loom fixes it I would say it was sending a bodge signal to the ecu.

Bryan sent me photos of his installation with the ecu mounted on the engine, (which I thought was a bloody good bit of comradeship amongst gyronaughts considering he didn"t know me) I should of coppied it at the time but followed the shortest route which turned out to be the longest! Don"t worry guys, I"ll defend the malony system to the end

Have now decided to change my $$$$$$$ exhaust system ( weighs a ton, don"t like the looks etc etc )......getting 2 special "canisters" made up, one directly under each head, chap yankland builds them for the fixed wing soob guys, rave reports about em. Sent me "drawings" ........so 2 getting made now.Am told they are as quiet as buggery, light as. Of the view that gyro "noise" is pronounced by the rotor blades bouncing noise downwards, and or, acting like an amphitheatre above our heads......

russ, you will notice a difference alright. i changed mine to the left hand side of the keel. took the exhaust pipe all the way to the back underneath the horizontal stab.[convential] along the pipe i cut some slots , with one of those dual saws, and not up into the prop blast but sideways. never told any one and went for a fly . after take off i could see the care taker come out of his van, and after my fly when i got back he said he couldn"t work who it was cause it was a quieter machine and i visited a friend and took a photo of their house, at work she said i must of done something to my machine because it seemed quiter. if you take the prop off and run the engine it usually will be quieter. so i always see it as prop noise, everyone always bagged me putting on a hot dog like they supply for vw.2"dia.but it"s been quieter and power has been good.just my thoughts.
